could it be...?

am I no longer a blogger? Does one post a week satisfy my reading public?

Last weekend we went to a wedding at Mt Tamborine. It was great until I was attacked by a flying pterodactyl at breakfast the next morning. Seriously it swooped down from nowhere like a stealth bomber, grabbed food off my plate and then took off. Of course the whole restaurant found it hilarious. I hot footed it out of there ASAFP! Besides the shops were calling me.

A summary

so far this week I have...

• had a public holiday
• gone to the gym on many occasions
• had a 12 hour day at work..literally 7.30 - 7pm - Ok so that is only 11 1/2 - I rounded up
• been to a conference
• conducted a 'shuffle' around southbank - I was encouraged by a random stranger ...when I stopped to walk he said "don;t stop keep going - Ive been watching you you've been going great" and then of course he ran past me into the distance never to be seen again. This jog was good in several ways because I finally went over the 2 pedestrian bridges - and I have been meaning to do that for a little while
• met up with a friend
• been caned at an outdoor training session.

This weekend I still have to

• go to a wedding
• get my hair done
• pick up my dad from a recent adventure
• go to indrops to work out what I am wearing to tomorrows wedding

I also need to somehow fit in some housework, washing etc.

My google reader must be at about 3 000 000. I haven't checked it for ages.

Without going into a whole whingey thing - I haven't had much spare time lately - hence lack of blogging. This week is no lighter on the schedule - I am a busy girl. Last week I went and saw the above personage in concert. ( my sister got us tickets for my birthday) OMG - I could get busy with him. Can you put that on your blog? I just did.

can you believe

It came to my attention the other day that I have a shortage of red shirts. What is with that? This is the whole section of my wardrobe that is red. Quite obviously NONE of these were appropriate for the ensemble I was planning. I am hoping to rectify this situation ASAP.

I also have the following items on my shopping list

• a navy shirt
• a cute red necklace
• white shirts ( one can never have enough white shirts)
  

PS I am not sure that I love this Iphone camera app - photo didn;t quite work out as I had wanted. I will have to muck around with it a bit more - when I can find the time

The original bunny

It is 2 years today since my mum died - and she was the original bunny! We had never seen the photos that mum is featured in here until after she died. I think this is a great photo. She has written on the back of the photo - " me with a pig. I shot it" I mean you cannot argue with those words now can you. No one can really tell us where it is or even when it is, but hey I love it anyway. I also love that mum is fully rockin a navy and red dress while shooting. No wander she had strict rules for us about how to be presented when we were going out.

I miss her lots and again I would LOVE that dress for myself

Gidgee girl is sometimes soooooooooooooo cute, but then other times like when she is clawing the leather lounge not so cute.

excuse the fact that I am dressed like a "lady of the night" and playing pool? I mean really red nylon??? Cute pigtails though.

weird

I think I have mentioned before that I live close to the CBD of my town. This has great benefits but also some negatives - like finding it difficult to get a park out the front of our house. The other day on our way to the gym ( so early early dark still) we walked out the front gate and there were a pair of shoes and some roughed up dirt. WEIRD! What was even weirder is that later in the day they were gone. I am wandering if the rightful owner came looking for them perhaps when they weren't feeling quite so under the influence...

i don't wanna do it

I sooooooooooooooooooooooo did not want to go to the gym this morning. But I did. This is at about 5.45...I had spent the previous 15 minutes mucking around...changing machines..generally avoiding doing anything. One of my gym 'friends' suggested we have a cup of tea. I don't even drink tea but hey why not - it got me off the treadmill for a little bit. In the hour we were there I did manage to do 30 minutes of exercise and work up a little bit of a sweat.

In case you are wandering about my hair - I literally got out of bed and did nothing to it - not even a thing.

something yummy

I love it when you're on holidays and you can just whip a nice lunch. I have been craving this dish forever -since I had it at Giardenettos' ( which for the gluten free fans out there is an Italian restaurant that has lots of gluten free stuff - we all know that I of course do not go with this option - I'm on record as lovin me gluten) Anyway I had this beautifully simple pasta dish that was spaghetti, prawns, chili and olive oil. It was absolutely delicious. SO yesterday I made my own - sans pasta, but with prawns, calamari and fresh salmon. It did not disappoint.

holiday fun

My friend Leesy J has been getting all crafty - which inspired me to do something myself. Can you guess what I might be making?

a problem

I already mentioned that we have a mini skip - now I know it seems like we have one all of the time - and this would make people wander WTF we throw in it all of the time. Just to clarify - we always fill it up with garden cuttings etc, but then there is the other stuff. I am constantly moving things around in the house - for example we no longer have a spare bedroom, we have a craft room. ( no one ever does Craft but that is where all of the stuff lives) Because our house is old we have a 'sleep out' style verandah. Anyone who has ever had a sleep out knows that they can quite easily become a junk yard. Ours is no different.

This post is getting quite lengthy - and I hate that! So I will cut to the chase. I sorted through a cupboard on the sleepout and found a heap of bags from our 2004/2005 trip to America. REALLY PEOPLE! These bags have been carted around the world. At the time I thought I would die if I did not bring home a Bloomingdale's Medium Brown Bag - bag. Of course they have never been used. So tomorrow they go. Now we have an empty cupboard that is going to be the new home for the CD collection.

Did you want to know all of that? I swear I am NOT a hoarder! I swear!

my plans

SO I have a few days off - and well you really need a plan don't ya? So here they are ..my plans for the next few days

• fill the mini skip - yes we have a mini skip again - the yard has overgrown from all of the rain
• advance a bit more on my C25k plan - maybe even try running outside..OMG
• do some meditations from the Iphone app I have
• gym it up
• catch up with 'people'
• maybe go to the movies - I must be the only person on the planet who hasn't seen avatar

the toes knows

Friday night was a work social event that involved baring my feet. I decided on Friday morning that my feet were really not worthy enough to be paraded around and needed a pedicure. So i quickly and easily convinced Cat-man-do to come with me. We ditched the gym! but our feet definitely looked fab

narrow it down

so I had another busy weekend - the highlight of which might just have been Saturday night when I went out with Leesy J and Jojo. I looked forward to our dinner alllllllllllllllllllll week. We went to Meccah Bar which was delicious and then we went to Freestyle for dessert. This was the menu. I had it narrowed down to 6 choices from this menu. I often have this problem and just have to be forced to lock it in. I often ask the waiter/ess for help. Which of course I did. I asked her " Should I go with the Baked Lemon and Lime cheesecake or the apple raspberry crumble"

She said " umm well one of them is hot and one of them is cold"

ummmmmmmmmmm thanks for that.

I went with the cold option.

More weekend stuff

SO Saturday was a busy, busy day. I had not one, but two social gatherings to attend - both of which required "dressing up' to some element. The first was a kitchen tea and you had to dress like you were going to the races. The second was a birthday party with the theme of "beauty and Geeks". I obviously had to wear the same outfit to both - there wasn't time for a change. I had fun at both venues. This is me at the beauty and gees birthday party with my aunty Ivy.

a relaxing Sunday

at home for the most part. Once I had been to the gym, done a few odd jobs, some washing, been to Bunnings, done the groceries, had a chat with Shirl - I came home and put my feet up and caught up on some weekly viewing. If you want to know what I did on Friday night - check out this link .

a week late

but better than never. I have tried several times this week to upload this collage of my birthday dinner last Saturday night and have had nothing but trouble. Some interesting things from the night
1. Ortiga the restaurant is great
2. I have great friends
3. I ate whole prawns - eyes and all
4. I was wearing my fancy Christian Loubiton shoes that Dad bought me at Saks
5. Jody was wearing her fancy D & G shoes that Dad bought her at Saks
6. The hairdresser actually sewed my hair into place with needle and thread. I am not even kidding
7. In order to make my Traner happy one of the cocktails I had was called Boozy Lemonade and it had egg white on the top of it.
8. We thought the asparagus salad was a little strange looking

Lucky Girl

It was my Birthday yesterday - yes I know another year older another year wiser! I thought I would highlight my present stash. I did very well for an ol girl! I made my sister take a photo with each single birthday item. Of course she obliged because it was my birthday!

I will have photos from my weekend celebrations to post later too. Is it still ok to be having a BIRTHDAY WEEK?

I loved all of my pressies - every single one of them.

so another week

has whizzed by. How does that happen? Things at work have been crazy busy busy for me for some reason this week - I have had a meeting every single day, which has meant i get to work earlier and stay later just to get all of my normal stuff done. SHEESH! I have also been working out at the gym twice a day most days and well literally this is the first time I have been on the computer at home since Monday. What is with that???

I also somehow found the time to go and see...

I really liked it. Anyway now i must go because I am running late for work and another meeting I have this morning.

Also Birthday celebrations start this weekend :)

snow...bunny???

Time for some more holiday snaps. Yes that is me standing in the snow in NYC! This was the one and only day that it snowed - but there sure was heaps of it! I had organised to traipse to the laundromat first thing in the morning. So I got up when everyone else was asleep, took my bag of quarters and everyone's washing and headed out. The laundromat was run by a very strict person who watched everyone like a hawk. I had planned on getting a hot drink read a book etc, but that was not going to happen because she shooed me out. I went back to our unit - collected my sister and made her come out for breakfast with me - and of course take a photo.

gee whizz that was a long boring story with no funny punch line. seriously...sheesh

it's raining...

again...and again...and again.

The little town that I used to live in has been on the news because it is flooding. SO of course I had to dig out some old photos of when it flooded when I was there. This is 1995 - it wasn't a major flood like there was in 1990 and then again in 1997 (which I did have to evacuate my house for) but still there was a lot of water in my front yard!

I am pretty sure that I bought this dress from PALL MALL! and please ignore the hideous shoes - what was I thinking?

sometimes

this is why it is so difficult to do anything on the computer. If she isn't walking across the keyboard she is laying down right in the most difficult spot ever. Sometimes actually ON the keyboard and you have to try and maneuver around her. LITERALLY! And then she will get all huffy and hissy and well then it is over - you have to pack up and do something else, because everyone knows that a hissing cat is always going to be the winner. I like my eyes!
