so the other night I was trying to clean up and well does this photo look like the result of a clean up? No it does not - because what happened was I was going at a thousand miles an hour as I often do when I have a bee in my bonnet about something ( this time it was cleaning up the house obviously ) and well I knocked a whole contained of dog food off of the bench. A whole container . EVERYWHERE! IN THE KITCHEN! so of course I gave up on the cleaning, because when the gods give you signal like that you cannot ignore it!
PS thanks another J for commenting! I don't feel as lost in the blog wars now!
PPS D - it would seem I have trumped you today!

recurring theme
so for those of you who follow this blog religiously you will know that I have been experiencing difficulties with missing scarves! well lo and behold should it not happen to me again this morning, when obviously I wanted a purple scarf, and well was it in the scarf place?- no my Friends it was not! So I had to rummage through my housemates bedroom til I found it - which let me say was not an easy task. As for the previously mentioned black scarf - it was with great ceremony thrown at my head while I was in bed on Saturday morning accompanied by the comment " How dare you excuse me of taking this black scarf in a public forum" Humph - go figure. Also for those following my weekly gym quest you will be happy to know that as of this evening I will have surpassed last weeks tally - as I will have completed 6 classes and yes it is only Wednesday

Busting out
so we went to Busting Out on Friday night - which if you have never heard of it involves women on stage with no bras or shirts on for that matter, doing things with their boozies like "the Donut" "the sniffer dog" etc...it was quite funny if not a little crass in places - but hey you get that. the people sitting beside my sister didn't come back after the interval - so i guess it was waaaayy to crass for them. But all in all it was fun - especially the drinks and food afterwards - I had a yummy hot chocolate at Park Raod - whcih can i just say i think has passed its glory days - but hey it was convenient and the place we really wanted to go - Freestyle at the Emporium in the valley had a line of about 30 people waiting to get in - so park road was just fine. Do you think park road has passed its glory day?

totally bewitching
SO I went to friends for dinner an catch up last night - and I have to say I overheard the funniest conversation - ever. Whilst preparing dessert in the kitchen, the conversation of the 2 gentleman who were retiring in the lounge room could be overheard.
Gentleman 1: " Well this season of bewitched, Tabitha has just been born"
Seriously I am still laughing...what could they possibly have been discussing? And if I hadn't interrupted could I have possibly heard further conversations as to which Darren was better? Was Endora well intentioned or just a purely evil mother in law? Should Darren have been so uptight about Sam and her witchcraft? ( I mean he did know when he married her) and would the nosey neighbour have qualified for some prozac with her rantings? or would we see her on a current affair showing her secret video of the strange going ons....
all of this prompted me to of course watch and episode of bewitched this morning - Dr Bombay was in da house!!
PS I didn't make my ten visits to the gym, only 5 - alas this week will be better..

egg on my face...
so this afternoon while thinking about what to blog and trying to avoid going to the shops and having a hot chocolate, I think "MMMM.. I know I'll have a boiled egg - that's protein and so much better for me than a hot chocolate" Well my friends ...let me say it is not. So I cook myself a boiled egg in the microwave ( I know its no longer a boiled egg, but you know what I mean) I had hunted down one of those cute microwave egg boilers on the holidays because I thought it would be soooooooooo handy. SO I cook myself the egg, am in the process of peeling it, when what should happen but it explodes, and I have egg on my face...in my hair...in my eyebrows..all over my clothes..all over the bench..all over the ceiling..all over every f****n thing in fact. Oh and also i burnt my hand...so of course I had to take photos and blog it...and of course now that I have showered, washed and re blow dried my hair because I'm going out - I'm going down to the shops to have the hot chocolate...

barking mad...
minke..the minkster...minkola..minky spinky all names for my 'beloved' Labrador of 13 years. Notice the ".." because right at this very moment there isn't a whole lotta love between me and the minkster. Why you may ask...well let me tell you - minke has taken to barking up a storm and not really loud stranger danger barking, whiny single barks, that even though I try to ignore them they don"t stop. You know Dr Harry often says its just behaviour and responding gives him what he wants, well there is only so much you can ignore at 7 o clock on a Saturday morning. SO I traipse out of bed to give him some food and anti-psychotic dog medication (seriously) and this calms him down for lets say about 1/2 hour. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR. and you know every time I go to him he is at the back door and his tail is wagging - does this sound like a dog that is in distress or a dog that is playing the system. Well it has to end. My sister said to me this morning " Did I have dream that you said you were going to murder minke" to which I replied " No mon frere - it was not a dream !"...

the chins!

so yesterday I had a super fun day catching up with friends, and then well my cold took over and what with making a cheesecake from scratch and cooking a roast and going to a waxing appointment, the day just got away from me and I didn't blog. My favourite part of the day was when my godson said about some problems with his shoes " it was a bit accident but heaps of purpose". Of course the food was fab too - you just can't beat pancakes. I had the banarama, which is a fav. Just for interest sake - the cheesecake and roast were delish. Sorry about the blah-ness of my blog, but my sinuses are really clouding my head.... so much so that i cannot even work out how to rotate my photo...

balance
it turns out this is a pretty important thing to have during a pilates class, and it also turns out that your balance is crazzeeeee when you have blocked up nose and ears. ) I remember biology its all to do with the Eustachian tube) and the circular breathing is difficult when you can't breath through your nose...all of course due to my first cold of the season. ( I've done pretty well to get to this point methinks) Pilates class was made more enjoyable for me when our German pilates instructor says things like " pretend you are suck an icetube into your sphincter" and " work your inner tighs". My absolute fav tonight though was " Pardon my bowels" which was preceded by an appropriate noise! If my balance wasn't already off I possibly would have fallen over from trying not to laugh...seriously I do not make a word of this up

bag lady
and not in a good way.
this is how many bags I had to cart home yesterday. Can I remind people I went for 1 week, basically lived in the same outfit all week,( mixed up with different scarves and shoes :)) and also as the owner of I swear 10 different suitcases in myriad of sizes, why was this allowed to happen. It reminds of the time Jo and I were in New York checking in to the Waldorf Astoria Towers( yes that is where the Hiltons live) and we checked in with luggage that wasn't too dissimilar form above - very Beverly Hillbillies!

well i'm home
and not a minute too soon - what with all the pouring rain that I woke up to down the coast this morning. Holidays were nice - and my trip to Byron was lovely - and dad was very patient and came into every shop with me and pretended to be interested in my hunt for sugar tongs! He did draw the line at consuming some of the food though - and for lunch he ordered the most least likely to be toxic - or laced with 'magic herbs' - he ordered a ham and cheese sandwich!!! He refused to try any of the "bliss ball' I bought form the totally vego shop, he only drank half his coffee ( which he later swears gave him a migraine and he thinks he may have had some crystal meth in it) and he begrudgingly tried some organic donut after he saw that I didn't instantaneously drop dead! But all in all bless him!!! ( also given the fact that mum would never have come with me to Byron after our one disastrous trip in which she just kept saying - "but this shop has exactly the same stuff as the last shop why do you want to look in them all")
its good that I am back - because if I spend too long down the coast I have a tendency to want to never come home and become a hippy - I could totally get with the vibe of Byron - minus the bliss balls and I have always wanted dreadlocks...seriously.

the coast...
so I just have to put up front that currently I am sitting in an rsl club while everyone around me is playing the pokies or watching the football...also this keyboard has no hhh key just a stump which is why sometimes when i push it it sticks and there is more than one...I have been having a nice time down the coast - mostly...but since it is our first holiday without mum it has some weird spots, but you know what else do ya do. I went shopping at pac fair today, and bought a really nice pair of shoes among other things. I am heading off to Byron tomorrow, and i have warned dad that i like going in and out of shops randomly so there can be no dad sighs about how long it is taking. my family has never shared the same love of byron that i have...do you realise how many h's there are in words??? on that note and as my 2 dollars worth of time runs out, I'm going to take my sore h button pushing finger and go home. alas the football is not for me...but i do hear cold rock ice cremery calling..its gonna be an english toffee with macadamias mixed in...yum
