A thought provoking question for the day - if people ask for your opinion - do they really want to hear the truth according to you - or do they want to hear the truth according to them - in which case why are they asking you? I can only give the truth as I see it according to me - would you not agree? or am I way off base?
Nothing earth shattering happened on my weekend to prompt this discussion - I just got thinking about it today. In fact the weekend was fab - I caught up with friends for both lunch and dinner on Saturday and then Sunday was a blissfully relaxing day whereby I did pretty much nothing - I seem to be really tired and am thankful that the holidays are pending...
Saturday lunch was a high tea at Clayfield and it was lovely to see some friends I haven't seen for ages. You'll notice I still haven't really resolved the fringe issue...

Truth-telling is not always easy and most often fraught with how the personage might react if you do actually tell them honestly everything you are thinking. I think a person can 'listen' without telling them the truth...and yes, generally if problems persist then they are fully rockin' their problem and don't want it resolved.
I'm always getting in trouble with a special someone when I actually response to their request to "give my opinion" when she really means "just listen and agree with me".
