of all the things I've lost...

this week has been an absolute nightmare in terms of me losing things. I am a bad loser of things because it literally drives me nuts until I find it. My over analysing mind just keeps looping the following thoughts

...where did you put it...

...where did you use it...

...how irresponsible...

and on and on and on it goes.

In summary, this week I have lost

  • a watch

  • a pair of jeans

  • the latest women's health magazine
  • the other half of my face...lol

I have looked through bags, baskets and even the rubbish bags in the bin trying to locate some of these items.

The one thing I wanted to lose this week - I did not...Ho hum...

strange bedfellow

Every night when I get into bed - this little kitty is waiting for me. She knows that she has to lay on the towel, and well this picture was just too cute. It's not always me though - she has a habit of playing my housemate and I against each other. She will like me for about 3 months - sleep in my bed all of the time etc etc, but then she switches and I become dead to her. Also sometimes a little cat is worse to have in your bed than a partner - she can be an absolute bed HOG

we're not in Kansas anymore

A friend bought me these new shoes and well they are everything I love in a shoe. Red and pointy and also comfy.
The last few days have been full on. Visiting friends, family, shopping you know how it gets. Today I started with a personal trainer at the gym - so watch out - not only will I be getting pumped but I could also be tired and cranky because it is at 6am every Monday morning. It is all part of Operation Fab, so fingers crossed there will be some visible changes in the next few weeks/months. Hey maybe some before and after photos are needed. AS IF!!!

Ski bunny

I have been lucky enough to have been skiing a few times in my life. I do not profess to be a good skiier by any stretch of the imagination. A good day of skiing to me is not a black run but a day without falling over - EVER. I have managed this a few times. Normally the skiing adventures are hilariously funny. Like this photo - I remember being quite happy with myself that I had managed to keep all of the skiing accoutrement on my head without it blowing off - I did manage though to get all tied up in quite a tangle - I looped my goggles through my hat, through my ear muffs, through the ski pass - and well then it wouldn't come off. And of course it was totally photo worthy as I'm pretty sure Leesy J and and I were in fits of giggles about it all. Perhaps it was delirium that made us find it so funny - because our ski instructor had basically left us for dead and we had to find our way back by ourselves. We were nearly run over by a snow tractor as a part of the finding our way home adventure thing too. Our happiness when we reached the bottom may have been rewarded that night with some nice drinks at the bar...in the warm...

a big job

WE are partially in the middle of a big rearrange in our house - it has been going on for months now and probably will continue for months as well - as we seem to work at the pace of snails - however I have been cleaning out drawers, sorting through things etc. I have decided that I am going to be organised about my photos - we literally have packets and packets and packets of photos. So I have started sorting through them. I have noticed a few things

  • I take a lot of photos

  • I seemed to like getting doubles of everything I have ever printed ever!

and

  • my photography skills are not always tip top.

  • the packets are not organised - there are random photos stuffed everywhere

As a result I am throwing out anything blurry and anything that I don't know who or what the photo is of. I then plan to organise the photos into categories and put them into albums. I know it is going to be a big job - but it is also fun as I have come across photos that have taken me back to certain times and places, like today's photo

I remember we had a fun picnic/adventure out at the Ward river in the Ville. Even though it looks like Leesy and I are in the middle of the bush - I remember we had a fun day ( well that's how I remember it anyway) You can also see Basil in the bottom left hand corner. Good times :)

My Mum

you know it's been a year since my mum died, and well what can I say. Sometimes it feels like she has been gone forever and sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday I was talking to her. Without a doubt I miss her every ...single...day

i went to indrops

and all i got was...

a spirax!!!!!!!!!

I have often said that I need a spirax to jot things down in as they come into my head. Normally it is about raving letters I'm going to send to someone ( usually politicians, morons, that sort of thing) SO yesterday while at indrops I bit the bullet and purchased a spirax - I already have stuff written in it too. Not that I'm planning on sending letters - but I am hoping to be more prepared on my next library visit - I always find myself wandering around not having any idea of what authors I want to look for; what books I'm wanting to read etc etc - not happening again!

Also the plates my spirax is resting on are from my Dad's mother. We have the whole dinner set - and when Dad saw it again he was all " I remember using that as a kid" so I thought that was nice - and we now have it on display.

made me chuckle

I have finally dragged myself out the 'chocolate and hot cross bun' haze I have been living in the past 4 days - and my waistline says "thanks not a minute too soon" ...

I read this on one of my daily Internet reads and well it made me chuckle.

come out come out

wherever you are? This is a picture of my housemates dog - Scout. He over a period of time dug this hole in the middle of the yard that is a total break-your-ankle hazzard. I have to put a frame around it so noone does break their ankle. Every time I fill it - he re digs it - so I have given up, and now just put the grass clippings in there. And you know what the scoutster loves it!

boogie woogie

You know I went dancing last week, and I must say that i love a bit of theme dressing so I couldn't help but do my hair in a slightly 1940's style - well at least I thought it looked the part. It partly came about because the original style (which wasn't in theme) was shocking - so i quickly applied some trusty bobby pins and presto - it worked.
I think that today's post should go down as one of the most interesting and riveting in ages...who's going to question that? HUH? WHO??

painful pandas'

when I placed these shoes on this morning - I did not know of the world of pain they were going to cause me. I love them. When I first put them on this morning I even caught myself doing a jaunty little step and thinking to myself that they could possibly form a part of my overseas wardrobe. How mistaken I was. Despite the fact that they are just little sandshoe style things they have made me

  • place band aids on my heels
  • take my shoes off intermittently throughout the day

and

  • walk with a wincing look on my face.

They will absolutely, positively not be packed in my bag. They are going straight back in the box they came from until next time I need some pain in my life.

PS - I think they are soooooooo cute becasue the pattern is fromed by connecting panda's - have a close look

Miss Joanne

and her wonderful world of ballroom dancing! Yes this is how I spent my Friday night - for the princely sum of just 8 dollars you get to touch a multitude of unknown sweaty men. Sounds enticing doesn't it. It was actually a little bit fun and I probably will go again - but there were some unfun bits...like

  • having to wait on the chairs til a boy comes and asks you to dance ( seriously think 1950's)
  • being told off by some of the boys because you looked down at your feet - apparently this is a big no no in the ballroom dancing world
  • seriously the sweat on some of the boys was just too too much . yech!

fun bits...

  • learning the cha cha, quick step, jive
  • exercising for a few hours
  • having the same sorta cute boy ask you to dance a few times
  • the Mexican for dinner before we went

It was seriously like a step back in time - or onto the strictly ballroom dance set...

memory lane

WHILST ( Sorry D ) looking at old photos this afternoon I had a trip down memory lane and came across some absolute corkers which no doubt I will be featuring over the coming weeks. lucky you! This photo I think you can see from the date in the background is from August 95. My friends Lisa and Damien hosted a 'kitchen tea /hens night" for me on the occasion of my upcoming nuptials - alas I think you know the marriage did not last, but the Friends did . SO win win really !
