I went to the Pete Murray concert the other night, and it was a school night! Outrageous. And somehow I feel like I am getting a little old for the nosebleed section - I need a chair - or even better a nice little table with Pete playing in the background. My feet were killing me by the end of the night. The concert was great by the way. I did get to thinking though - that I absolutely hate the encore - It's so contrived and fake and well blah. i don't like it when anyone does it. They say goodnight, leave the stage, the lights stay down , the crown goes wild, they come back and do 2/3/4 songs. PUHLEASE. Enough. Just play the songs as part of the set and be done with it!

Actually you raise a good point....what purprose does the encore serve ? Is it so you feel you are getting a little something extra for your money ? You are right - it's so contrived...hardly spontaneous as if Pete decided off the cuff to do a few extra for his amazing crowd.
