continuing a theme

I do have a new theme in line for this week, but still have some photos left over from last weeks and didn't quite get around to taking today's theme picture.

I love candles! I think the light they give off is really nice. I liked this wall hanging / candle arrangement, but it has a fatal flaw. The candles when they burn down, spill over the edges. That is not a good thing - so most of the time this has no candles burning in it ever - at least it looks nice on the wall. Can you get non dripping candles??

Back together

I think the Internet and I are back together!

I have spent the last few days at a conference - I on the whole liked it - but there were a few people who really annoyed me - and I was all like.."SERIOUSLY...SHEESH! WHAT IS WITH YOU PEOPLE..." AS a summary I learnt

  • that I do not under any circumstances like playing icebreaker games - big SNORE. ( although I did meet someone during one of the games - who had a strange set of four things in common with me. For example - I had a godson called Xavier, he had a son called Xavier - now you don't come across that kind of thing everyday)

  • that manners do not get you anywhere - especially if you want to leave early

  • that people can very easily - in the words of my Mum "SLIP OFF" my radar and into the land of no return.

Because it is Saturday my running update is thus

  • ran for 1 Hour and 2 Minutes ( I had to finish the song I was listening to), which equated to 7.3kms and 960 calories...I didn't think I was going to make it to the 45 minute point but then I did and somehow found a second wind and could push on. I know it is not really fast but I did try and run at different paces today - even up to 9 at some points.

Continuing the theme of things around my house - today's photos are of some pictures/frames that I have around the house that I love. The first set I bought in New York - I didn't realise that 3 of them were landscape and 1 portrait orientation - I just bought them because I liked them. I also didn't realise that when I was hanging them - but I kind of now like that one is out of order. AS my sister would say it is a "Point of Difference" and this is always to be encouraged. The second frame are photos I took when I lived in the Ville. The frame was a gift from friends for babysitting their delightful children one time - and we were discussing this just last night. Again we don't love the wall colour in our house - but alas New York calls so repainting comes in second.

A super long post from me today...SNORE! I have a theme ready for next week, but do you have any suggestions about themes that I could use. It has t be something I can take a photo of

OMG!

For some reason we have used up all of our allotted Internet allowance for the month and well now we are down to less than dial up speed - It has literally taken 10 minutes for this page to open. This never ever happens, so don;t know what has been happening. Anyway because I have the patience of ...(I don't know what - think of something with very little patience)...I would like to put on record that until this problem has fixed itself. The Internet is officially DEAD TO ME!!!!!

10 pink bottles

hanging on the wall, and if one pink bottle shall accidentally fall - there'll be...

Hope that song doesn't stick in your head too much. I have a 'room' off of my bedroom - it has become my walk in wardrobe -thanks again T! It was obviously part of a verandah in a previous life so it has a funny door way - I put these 3 pink bottles up recently. I think they catch the light nicely

say something

We all know how I love little inspirational sayings , daily affirmations etc. This is one that I saw and loved and had to have, but I have absolutely no recollection of where I bought it from - none what-so-ever! It hangs on my bedroom door and I think it is a good strategy to live your life by. I think most days I manage all three to different degrees. Do you?

can't imagine

what has kept me from blogging? I think I will have a them this week - "things around my house". I usually take my daily photo in the bathroom - you might notice there is an addition to the wall behind me - a clock. This has made our getting ready lives much easier - because now we don't have to go to the kitchen to do a time check. You might also notice the bedroom behind me - I will just put on notice that it is not my room.

passport..passout

why is it that passport photos are always ug? why oh why is this so? I had decided that since i needed to renew my passport I was not going to be having an ugly photo for the next ten years...no way. I had a plan!

Plan 1 - the plan started with a trip to the hairdresser on Saturday. My hairdresser was going to make me glam - fix up the regrowth, do a nice blowdry etc etc. My hairdresser did an excellent. I was glam when she finished. Then I went to have the photos taken...and guess what? Both places at the shopping centre who did passport photos couldn't do them - broken machines - APPARENTLY. I even waited in one shop and said to the junior sales person "look I know you have a big sign on the counter that says you are not doing passport photos - but is that true?" Of course it was. So there was my first plan gone.

Plan 2 - ok no drama's I thought - I'll just go and get them done on Sunday. I'll be able to jazz the hair up. Jazz the hair up I did - it didn't look quite as good as Saturday - but hey. SO I have the photo taken (you know you are not allowed to smile anymore - my last passport photo you were allowed to smile) I say to him " Can I have a look?" - he begrudgingly shows me. I say "I'm not really happy with that" "He says oh well most passport photos are train crashes anyway" For this I paid 15 dollars...I am cranky - but also too stingy to have another one done. GRRRR. I also have a sneaking suspicion that it is too close and will be sent back from the passport office. I hate it - and can't believe I am actually putting it up for viewing. ARRGHH

a few things

about this photo
  1. it was taken after the big walk on Saturday - please be kind on the hair etc. Remember 10 000 steps 1000 calories...
  2. Wine is Star Jasmine from the Summit winery in Stanthorpe. It is sweet but I really liked it and will buy more -without a doubt
  3. strange man in background... i don't know? But you can check out more of him here
  4. Do you notice I am still wearing the wish necklace - I put that thing on on the 8th March - and I have not taken it off for one single thing - not one. And it has not broken.

Seriously...sheesh

shades of red

Not the snazziest photo of me - but I do love love the feature of my camera. Still. I just need to be able to work it a bit more quickly. I'm still in the learner driver stage with it.
The scarf I am wearing I bought on the weekend in a trip to Indrops with Shirl - and it is going to be one of my OS scarves...the bracelet I love - it is from a little shop in Byron - and I'm not sure if you can see my shoes but they are red patent - one of the pairs I bought on the holidays.

owww my legs

are really hurting after a really big walk on the weekend. We signed up for an adventure bush walk with friends. It was a 2 hour walk in which we were meant to circumnavigate the earth - sorry I meant a reservoir. About an hour into the walk we discovered that we were not going to make it before dark so we went back from whence we came - well not exactly the same way. These are the shoes of my sister and I enjoying some delightful cupcakes, after we had had delicious minestrone soup , and some yummy wine. Apparently we walked 8000 steps and also burnt 988 calories - during the walk. Exciting hey. I'm not sure that everyone in the walking group knew that I am scared of walking down gravelly, rocky things - I don't mind walking up - but I just have this fear that on the way down my feet will fall out from under me and the next thing you know I am at the bottom - in a heap. Not good. But all in all it was SUPER FUN, and something I would do again- as long as I have my gandalf the great walking stick

i just like it

For some reason when looking for something to blog about today - I came across this picture of me from last Friday night - the French dinner. For some reason I just like this photo - even though my eyes are puffy for some reason. I like the hair colour - I like the lipstick colour, and well there you go.
My next blog will be my 200th - and well I am running out of things to Blog about. Can you make any suggestions?

kooky dad

More photos from the series - "Thursday night at dads" You will notice in this picture that dad is wearing a dressing gown- the one he so proudly boasted about earlier in the year when he refused to buy my sister and I a dressing gown. WE gave him this dressing gown - like a gazillion years ago. It no longer has a belt - and hasn't had a belt for a long time. That didn't stop dad - you know most people - I should I say women - would probably buy a new one. Not my dad. He has belted this dressing gown with - a red tie and a dress belt amongst other things. You might wander what he is doing in this picture. He is scratching his back - he has always always used the corner of a wall to scratch his back. Kooky hey.
Can I also say that on Sunday I had nearly word for word this conversation with my dad on the weekend. I am not kidding you. I cut him short and said - check the x-ray draw!!! He came back and was giggling his head off and said " Well I'll be - why would a man keep his tax in the x-ray drawer". Yes dad - why exactly.

design dilemma

AS you know my house has been undergoing a change - we've been moving things around basically. Now this sends me into a bit of a tizz - because where do you put everything? So for the last week or so I have been rearranging all of the nic-nacs we have - and there are a gazillion. I arrange things then I assess them from afar - then I move what needs to be moved - and well let me say this little arrangement here is still a work in process - as you can see.

Saturday plans

Another blog this week - what is going on?

You know how I decide things all of the time ( well when I can make a decision that is) I have decided that Saturday at the gym is all about my running. It is my sole focus on a Saturday. Treadmill and me we're it. So last week I did twenty minutes of running - non stop - which for me is something because I have never been a runner ( and still am pretty sure I am not) SO my aim each week is to run just a little bit longer. Today I did 30 minutes - non stop. I am chuffed with myself...
