so this afternoon when I was at the supermarket doing the groceries for tonight's dinner, and while I was waiting in line I started thinking about my funny grocery idiosyncrasies. For example - I don't care how many groceries I buy I only ever want to make one trip form the car to inside. I don't care if my fingers fall off from lack of circulation as a result of carrying too many bags - I will not go back to the car. EVER! another thing I like to do is stock up on crazy items - for example if toilet paper is on sale I just buy heaps of it - we ran out once and as a result we have been known to have a back up of say about 50 toilet rolls. My housemate often has to say to me - enough with the toilet paper! So what are your supermarket idiosyncrasies?

Funny - but I'd have to say that a shortage of toot paper would certainly have long term effects.
In terms of my own shopping rituals - well - I don't do a great deal of shopping for the house but if Leesy gives me $50 I can blow it in a heart beat on any old cr*p - at the time I think that what I am buying is a priority (like toot paper) but then I get home and well - they are all luxury items.
I always have to check out whether the M&Ms are on special, in case I need to top up the bowl on my desk at work. And if bacon's on special, I may fill my entire trolley with it. I usually can't resist adding a chocolate bar from the checkout display (regular choices are cherry ripes, flakes and turkish delights) - damn those ambush marketing gurus!
I also share your habit of carrying all the bags into the house in one go.
Oh, and I refuse to use the new-fangled self-scan checkout, coz it inevitably does someone out of a job.
oh yeah I hate the self scan - because they have to have someone there watching that your not stealing so what not just out them on the F@@^$%## checkout!!!! I too love a turkish delight - and always say to myself that it is the healthy chocolate choice what with all that jelly in the middle :)
