Museum fun

On Sunday I went to the travel expo with my dad as we are planning an overseas holiday. the travel expo was packed so we picked up lots of pamphlets and then hightailed it over to the State Library because there is a really nice coffee shop there that I have had nice cake at in the past ( seriously I remember good cake - remind me another time to let you know about my pet peeves with cake !) So we go there for lunch - and dad is really funny whenever there is 'fancy schmancy' stuff on the menu he always says "I'll just have a toasted ham cheese and tomato sandwich" (remember our trip to Byron bay where he still to this day thinks his coffee was spiked! ) On the way back from our lunch, dad says he has never been to the art gallery or the museum in its 'new' location. I'm pretty sure the 'new' museum has been there for a gazillion years. So we went in - it was interesting in a museum kind of way - but the thing that rally grosses me out is all of the samples - you know the snakes in jars, the different size rats etc. GROSS! We had fun anyway and I suppose dad can now say he has been to the 'new' museum.

Oh and also they didn't have the really nice cake I was wanting - bummer.

Sorry to hear that you didn't get your cake...but it was a strategic move to get your Dad visiting museums in preparation for the City that never sleeps.
